Christian Lee has waited a long time to finally make his return to action in ONE Championship. Unfortunately for him, this wasn't another storybook moment in his incredible career.

'The Warrior' made his comeback at ONE Fight Night 26 this past weekend, where he puts the ONE lightweight world championship on the line. His clash with the undefeated challenger Alibeg Rasulov was really starting to heat up in the second round when Lee's opponent suffered an unintentional eye poke that he couldn't continue from.

The fight was declared a no contest and talk immediately turned to a rematch so that they could produce a decisive outcome.

The two-division world champion made it clear immediately after that though he's happy to run it back, he needs to take a bit of time off due to having a child on the way.

After the work that he has put in only for the fight to end this way, the world champ spoke about his frustrations at the post-event press conference:

"I'd like to be back in there soon. I trained 13 long weeks for this and I worked really hard. I would take an immediate fight, but I'm about to have another baby so I want to take some time off."

Christian Lee was building into the fight

As Christian Lee said himself, he had already put in the hard work for his big return at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Dec. 6.

All he needed to do was go out there and perform and though the fight only lasted two rounds, it was clear that he was getting stronger as the fight went on.

'The Warrior' was disappointed but you can be sure that once he's taken a few months to be with his family, he'll be back and raring to go once again.

Family comes first but fighting isn't far behind for the double MMA world champion.
