ONE lightweight world champion Christian Lee will look to capture a second world title on November 18 when he steps into the main event against reigning and defending welterweight titleholder Kiamrian Abbasov. ‘The Warrior’ successfully recaptured the lightweight crown at ONE 160, destroying former world champion Ok Rae Yoon in the process.
Ahead of his opportunity for dual-champion status, Lee sat down with The MMA Super Fan to discuss some of ONE’s top lightweight contenders, including Halil Amir, who scored a big second-round knockout over Timofey Nastyukhin in his promotional debut at ONE on Prime Video 2.
Giving his thoughts on the bout, Lee said:
“Styles make matches, I think Timofey came in there and he sort of, I don’t wanna talk bad about the guy because I have a lot of respect for Timofey. I think that Halil Amir had a good game plan for that fight and it showed.”

With a big win, Halil Amir immediately found himself in the No. 3 spot on the ONE lightweight rankings. While Christian Lee is occupied with attempting to become a two-division title holder, he’ll soon be looking to defend his own crown at lightweight. Having already defeated three of the top five contenders, the win quickly put Amir into title contention.

Should Christian Lee capture the ONE welterweight world title, is a showdown with Roberto Soldic inevitable?
Announcing that he signed with ONE Championship in August, fans quickly began fantasizing about booking the former KSW two-division champion in a slew of potential matchups for his debut inside the circle. Perhaps one that nobody considered was a fight with reigning lightweight champion Christian Lee.
If ‘The Warrior’ is successful in capturing the welterweight crown at ONE on Prime Video 4, that matchup could quickly become a reality:
“I think that if everything goes according to plan, and I’m able to claim the welterweight title, I think that I can see the two of us squaring off in the circle. He’s a very dangerous opponent, and I think it will make a quite exciting fight for the fans, definitely going to end in a finish.”
Of course, Roberto Soldic will first need to secure a win or two inside the circle before a world title opportunity becomes a reality. Would you like to see Soldic square off with Christian Lee?
