Two-division world champion Christian Lee believed it was essential for his younger sister, Victoria Lee, to take a pause from fighting in order to grow stronger as a fighter.
During her year-long furlough, Victoria focused on leading a normal teenage life. That included graduating from high school, being an aunt to her two nieces, and training with her siblings at the Evolve MMA gym in Hawaii.
Like his sister, Christian Lee also started his career at a young age and understands the challenges a young teenager faces as a full-time fighter. He defended the downtime Victoria needed in order to focus on her own personal growth as a fighter.

He told ONE Championship:
“In my opinion it’s very important to take some time off from fighting, especially in a situation like hers. She started fighting professionally at 16 years old and you know just being a professional athlete at 16 years old that’s something that very few people have experienced.”
Christian and his older sister, ONE atomweight world champion Angela Lee, also began their MMA journeys at a young age. Having experienced success early and the world-wide attention that came with it meant that they had to sacrifice a lot of their teenage years to focus on their careers.
Therefore, allowing Victoria Lee some time off so that she can reach a new level of maturity is essential for her progress and success in the long run.
Victoria Lee’s next victim is India’s Zeba Bano at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video
Making her U.S. prime debut, ‘The Prodigy’ Victoria Lee has her next victim booked for her return. India’s ‘Fighting Queen’ Zeba Bano will be taking on the challenge after falling short to Nat Jaroonsak at ONE 157 last May.
Meanwhile, Victoria has all the elements to make this matchup with Bano into a real banger. Undefeated by a record of three professional victories, Victoria Lee has a reputation for finishing her fights early.
Just like her older sister, Angela Lee, the two-time Pankration world champion has a proclivity for takedowns and heavy groundwork, which is a cause for concern for Zeba Bano, who recently lost to Jaroonsak via armbar.
However, the area where Bano is most effective is her standup. Having a solid foundation in wushu and kickboxing, ‘Fighting Queen’ has a 50/50 chance of keeping Lee on her toes.
Watch the Victoria Lee-Zeba Bano showdown live and for free with an Amazon Prime Video subscription on Friday, January 13.
