Born to a Singaporean father and a South Korean mother in Vancouver, Lee became only the second fighter born in the country to become a two-division world champion after the legendary Georges St. Pierre.
He was later asked about this historic feat by a member of the media during the post-fight interviews. ‘The Warrior’ replied:
“It feels great. This was just such a big moment for me in my career, and I'm very glad that I was able to get this opportunity first of all, and then second, to capitalize on it and to win the title. So it's a very big moment for me in my career. I'm just very happy, very relieved that it's all done and the goal has been accomplished.”
‘The Warrior’ has truly lived up to his name, pouring his heart and soul into making his dreams of becoming a two-division world champion a reality.
Now that he’s captured two major world titles at the age of 24, fans wonder what other goals he has on his list that he hopes to accomplish.
For one, Lee opened himself up to potential challengers in two weight classes, which means he’s in for a busy schedule in the new year.
