Ciryl Gane vs. Jon Jones is accompanied by a stacked undercard at UFC 285.

On March 4, the UFC heavyweight division will have a new king after Francis Ngannou chose not to re-sign and vacated the title. Although Ciryl Gane vs. Jon Jones has enough firepower to sell pay-per-views, the UFC has added several must-see matchups to UFC 285. MMA journalist Aaron Bronsteter shared the fight card on Twitter by saying:

“The UFC just issued a release for UFC 285, confirming the following bouts for March 4: [Ciryl] Gane vs. [Jon] Jones [Viviane] Araujo vs. [Amanda] Ribas [Bo] Nickal vs. [Jamie] Pickett [Geoff] Neal vs. Shavkat [Rakhmonov] [Derek] Brunson vs. [Dricus] du Plessis [Cody] Garbrandt vs. [Julio] Arce [Julian] Marquez vs. [Marc-Andre] Barriault [Kamuela] Kirk vs. [Esteban] Ribovics [Da’Mon] Blackshear vs. [Farid] Basharat [Jessica] Penne vs. [Tabatha] Ricci”

Since Bronsteter made his post on Twitter, another fight has been added as the co-main event. Valentina Shevchenko will defend her women’s flyweight championship against Alexa Grasso. Rumors have also started circulating about Amanda Nunes potentially stealing the UFC 285 co-main event against Irena Aldana, but nothing has been confirmed.

What is the most intriguing UFC 283 fight besides Ciryl Gane vs Jon Jones?

There are two primary fights are considered the most intriguing outside of the two title fights. First, Bo Nickal vs Jamie Pickett is the UFC debut of arguably the biggest prospect in promotional history. The middleweight matchup was supposed to happen in December, but Nickal pulled out with an injury.

Secondly, Shavkat Rakhmonov looks to continue his run to the welterweight title by taking on the streaking Geoff Neal. Rakhmonov has the potential to be a UFC world champion one day, but Neal’s impressive performance against Vicente Luque put the division on notice.

Another matchup to watch is the middleweight bout between Derek Brunson and Dricus du Plessis. Regardless of the undercard, UFC 285 is a can’t-miss event due to Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane. The new chapter of ‘Bones’ could solidify him as the GOAT or propel Gane into superstardom.
