Boxing and MMA star Claressa Shields recently opened up about the difficulties of having relationships and a personal life whilst being an active fighter.

Shields is considered by many to be one of the best active fighters in the sport today. She has won undisputed titles at middleweight and light middleweight, picked up two Olympic gold medals in 2012 and 2016 and has captured the WBO title at light heavyweight and the WBC and WBF titles at heavyweight. She also holds the record for becoming a two and three division world champion in the fewest professional fights (15-0).

Alongside her boxing career, 'T-Rex' decided fighting in the squared circle wasn't enough and she looked to pursue a career in MMA. She later signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and has fought three times since 2021, picking up two victories and one defeat so far.

Shields' success hasn't come without sacrifice, however, as she revealed it's played a major role on her personal life. During a recent interview on the Pound 4 Pound podcast with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, the 29-year-old was asked whether or not she was dating anybody.

Claressa Shields then opened up about her dating struggles and failed engagement. She said:

"I'm not engaged, I'm not married...People break up everyday, I don't know why it's a big deal that me and him aren't together [anymore]. We tried it, it didn't work out. I want my dating life to be private...It's very difficult [dating]. I've always taken care of myself...When it comes to somebody taking care of me, people think I don't want to be taken care of. When you're successful, you don't know if the guy likes you because you're pretty or you're famous...It's not the most easiest thing to do."

Claressa Shields doesn't believes Jake Paul has the skills to defeat her in a boxing match

Claressa Shields recently weighed in on Jake Paul's boxing skills and admitted she doesn't believe he could hang with her in a boxing ring.

Speaking in a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Shields was asked about 'The Problem Child's boxing career so far. The 29-year-old first praised Paul for bringing more eyes to the sport before then criticizing his skillset. Shields said:

"He's bringing more eyes to the sport and that's what you need...I don't think Jake Paul has the skills to get inside the ring with me or any of the guys that are at 154 pounds or up who is ranked in the rankings. I'm not gonna lie to you. 1 to 10. I don't think he could pick a guy 1 to 10 in any of the rankings, any of the weight classes and beat them."
