Two-time former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has announced his retirement from boxing following his second loss to Oleksandr Usyk. Fury issued a statement on social media, claiming he has reached the end of his illustrious career. This marks yet another retirement announcement from Fury, who has previously hinted at stepping away from the sport multiple times.
Fury, often regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights of his generation, leaves behind a legacy of remarkable achievements. He first claimed the IBF, WBA, and WBO titles in 2015 with a win over Wladimir Klitschko. Despite setbacks, including a suspension and mental health struggles, Fury made a historic comeback, defeating Deontay Wilder in their iconic trilogy to reclaim the WBC heavyweight title.
His rivalry with Oleksandr Usyk culminated in a long-awaited pair of clashes, where Usyk emerged victorious both times, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era. The loss marked Fury’s first as a professional and seemingly the conclusion of his storied career.
Reacting to his announcement on Instagram, Claressa Shields expressed her admiration for Fury’s contributions to the sport and congratulated him on a well-deserved retirement. She wrote:

Tyson Fury's manager reacts to the UK boxing star announcing retirement from the sport
Tyson Fury’s manager Spencer Brown was surprised by the UK boxing star's retirement announcement, calling it an unexpected decision. He revealed that Fury made the choice after reflecting overnight. Brown emphasized that Fury, a family man, may have had enough of the sport after achieving so much.
Despite previous retirements, he believes Fury is serious this time. He pointed out that Fury has secured his financial future and no longer needs to fight. Speaking in an interview with Boxing King Media, Brown said:
"He's made the decision himself... He's obviously been thinking about it overnight. I only spoke to him yesterday so he thought about it overnight. You know, he's a family man and he's probably just had enough. That's it! I've been asked by numerous people [about] will he come back again? The answerer is I don't think so this time."
