Colby Covington recently drew the ire of fans after playing down Gilbert Burns' case for a title shot.
Burns returned to action this past weekend against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287. The Brazilian won the bout via unanimous decision after dominating 'Gamebred' for the majority of the fight. With a win over Masvidal, 'Durinho' also put himself in a strong position with regard to the title mix.
However, Covington doesn't agree with this sentiment. In a recent interview with Submission Radio, 'Chaos' trolled Burns, suggesting that he needs a few more wins before entering the title picture.

Reacting to what Colby Covington had to say about Gilbert Burns, fight fans have roasted 'Chaos' for his comments. Fans reminded the former interim champion that his last win was against Jorge Masvidal as well.

UFC president Dana White has faced quite a bit of backlash ever since he revealed that Colby Covington will face Leon Edwards for the title next. Despite the presence of seemingly more deserving contenders such as Belal Muhammad and Gilbert Burns, White is adamant about 'Chaos' fighting for the championship.
Speaking about the same during the UFC 287 pre-fight press conference, White said:
"Colby Covington, like him or not, the guy showed up in London and cut weight. He did what he [was] supposed to do, he deserves the fight against Leon."
