Cole Abate learned ‘at a very early age’ what it takes to become a world champion at the highest level

Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom 'Ice' Cole Abate of the United States is ready to make his debut in the world's largest martial arts organization, and he wants to share his knowledge of 'the gentle' art with everyone.

Abate signed with ONE Championship just recently, and he's already scheduled to compete on a U.S. primetime card. Needless to say, the 20-year-old is excited to show what he can do.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Abate says that nothing but sheer hard work has led him to this point in his career, and he believes his early career experiences taught him how to push through adversity.

The Art of Jiu-Jitsu Academy product stated:

"I learned at a very early age that the amount of work I put in is what I would get out when it came to the results of the competition. I didn’t really have to have somebody tell me that."

Abate added:

"That experience alone and just feeling the happiness of winning and going after the higher belts made me motivated to continue training."

Needless to say, ONE Championship fans are excited to see Abate in action, and the 20-year-old phenom certainly has a good chance of making a statement.

American rising submission grappling star 'Ice' Cole Abate has an opponent for his ONE Championship debut, and it's none other than former ONE lightweight MMA world champion and Japanese legend 'Tobikan Judan' Shinya Aoki.

The two will take on one another at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Prime Video, which will broadcast live in U.S. primetime on Friday, December 6, from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
