Conor McGregor's ownership stake in BKFC has gotten many talking and someone who has received comparisons to the Irishman before, Connor Tierney, will compete for the organization this weekend.

At BKFC Coventry, Tierney is excited at the chance to become a pioneer and cement himself as the first-ever UK welterweight champion for the promotion. He is returning to the bare-knuckle space for the first time in nearly 16 months and looks to rebound from his lone BKFC loss to Jake Lindsey.

Tierney will look to do so against Jonny Graham who is an undefeated bare-knuckle boxer with stoppage victories in all of his outings so far. 'Brum Town Bomber' is no stranger to bare-knuckle gold though and when discussing this BKFC 64 opportunity in an exclusive interview, Tierney said:

"I just love the BKFC belts. I think they're just really nice looking belts. I've won titles in other organizations. I was the BKB, UB Bad, world champion. I was a prizefighter champion. I just thought it was a perfect opportunity to win a belt. To become a champion in BKFC as a UK champion and then look towards obviously world titles."

He added:

"So I had my eyes on that belt ever since it got released. I just really wanted one, like I just love the look of them. Obviously they've brought out the silver versions for the UK but they're just an extremely attractive belt. Something that I really, really like can't wait to get my hands on, to be fair."

Connor Tierney's thoughts on Conor McGregor claiming Mike Perry was fired from BKFC

Conor McGregor has made waves for his claims that he is a player-manager with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, teasing he will one day lose the gloves and step into their ring.

The 36-year-old made headlines a couple of weeks ago when he took to X and claimed that Mike Perry was fired from BKFC when he lost to Jake Paul in a gloved boxing bout on July 20.

Terming Conor McGregor's move to fire Perry as unjust, Connor Tierney stated:

"I didn't like that to be fair. I thought that was a bit bad. Mike Perry has done a lot for the promotion. Whether it was his last fight for the company or not, he's done absolutely massive things for the promotion. He's been on the biggest cards, he attracts the most attention. Even when he fought Jake Paul, it was off the back of BKFC." [14:10 onwards in the aforementioned video]

He added:

"He wasn't a UFC fighter, he was a BKFC fighter. It was bringing more publicity to BKFC. So I think that's just Conor being Conor, isn't it? Conor just hates Jake Paul and because he lost, Conor just decided to take it out on Mike Perry."
