Conor McGregor is set to face Michael Chandler in his highly anticipated return to the octagon after the pair coach opposing teams on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping speculated that the former double champion will receive a title opportunity if he is able to defeat the No.5-ranked lightweight.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the UFC commentator stated:
"If McGregor gets it done, will we see him fight for the title next? That is a given. That is 100 percent. Just prepare yourself mentally for that. Regardless of whatever you think, he’s the biggest star in the sport. He’s a former two-weight division champion, and he’s a person that people want to see fight."

Michael Bisping continued:
"If he goes out there and beats Michael Chandler, who’s one of the top-ranked lightweights on the planet, and he does it in exciting fashion, I’ll be honest, I’d have no problem with him fighting for the belt. McGregor vs. Chandler, I’m excited. Take my money already."
Many will disagree with the former double champiom receiving a title opportunity after being unranked and defeating Michael Chandler, who has just one win in his past four fights.
Despite this, the possibility is very likely due to McGregor's massive stardom. Bisping further speculated that if 'The Notorious' is unable to defeat the No.5-ranked lightweight, it could be the last time that he enters the octagon.

Michael Chandler believes that two million pay-per-view buys is possible in his bout with Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor is by far the biggest star in the history of mixed martial arts. The former double champion's UFC 229 bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov remains the only fight in the history of the sport to surpass two million pay-per-view buys. Michael Chandler recently speculated that his upcoming fight with 'The Notorious' could become the second event to clear that total.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the No.5-ranked lightweight speculated that the bout could become the best-selling pay-per-view event in the history of the promotion before stating:
"Traditionally, if you look at the numbers, I think two million [pay-per-view buys] is not just a possibility, I think it's very, very acheivable and very attainable... I think what I've created is this level of intrigue and mystique that when I show up on fight night and that cage door closes, all he** breaks loose and my foot is on the gas. I haven't seen a break pedal at all since I signed with the organization. Honestly, since I started fighting."
It will be hard to match the hype of UFC 229, which had a record 2.4 million pay-per-view buys. McGregor's two-year absence combined with the pair appearing on The Ultimate Fighter for several months will likely create interest in the bout.
