Conor McGregor has maintained his innocence during an ongoing accusation of sexual assault.

The former two-division UFC champion has been involved in a civil lawsuit, as a 35-year-old woman, Nikita Hand, has accused him and a friend, James Lawrence, of performing sexual acts on her in December 2018.

According to Hand, she was brought to Dublin's Beacon Hotel after a night of partying. The alleged sexual encounter then took place in the penthouse suite, with McGregor and Lawrence not having consent.

Meanwhile, McGregor has claimed Hand made several attempts to meet him before wilfully engaging in "vigorous" and "prolonged" intercourse.

The civil lawsuit took another turn when forensic scientist Dr. Charlotte Murphy confirmed McGregor's DNA was found on Hand's underwear and body. Murphy also claimed the damage to her clothes didn't seem playful.

Court evidence showed Hand had noticeable bruising following her night with McGregor. 'The Notorious' was shown the damage and responded by saying:

"I’ll tell you where she did not get them, from me."

Hand is pursuing financial compensation for the alleged sexual assault. Her representatives claimed their client was unable to return to work as a hairstylist due to the mental effects of the December 2018 encounter.

Conor McGregor shuts down alleged references to UFC 229 during controversial sexual encounter

Nikita Hand's civil lawsuit against Conor McGregor took another unexpected turn when UFC 229 was mentioned. Hand's in-court representative, John Gordon, brought up how McGregor suffered a fourth-round submission loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov two months before the alleged sexual assault.

Gordon also claimed McGregor put Hand in a submission and said:

"Now you know how I felt in the octagon."

McGregor responded to the accusations, saying:

"Your client is full of lies. Everything is a lie."

McGregor also said this about the UFC 229 reference:

"How anyone could believe that, how I would highlight my shortcoming. It's a full-blown lie, amongst many lies being told her."

McGregor is expected to return to the stand later this week. He and James Lawrence are facing separate civil lawsuits.
