Conor McGregor has weighed in on polarizing British public personality Tommy Robinson's imprisonment. On that note, the Irishman also addressed the alleged immigration issues that the U.K. and other countries have been facing over the years.

As reported by The Sun, in October 2024, Robinson (full name: Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) received an 18-month prison sentence for contempt of court. The Woolwich Crown Court in London handed him the sentence in relation to his having publicly displayed a banned documentary film, 'Silenced,' about an underage Syrian male refugee, Jamal Hijazi.

The British journalist and political commentator's supporters have maintained he's fighting against the alleged illegal immigration-induced crimes -- such as Britain's grooming gangs, who've reportedly perpetrated crimes such as r*pe and se*ual grooming of underage and adult persons in the U.K.

Meanwhile, his detractors have accused him of fueling far-right movements; purportedly perpetuating anti-Islamic rhetoric and extensively targeting the Muslim community. Per The Irish Times, Robinson was previously imprisoned multiple times; some of the charges against him included stalking, drug possession, and fraud.

Tommy Robinson was notably arrested in the documentary film displaying case in July 2024 and sentenced in October 2024. Per The Sun, Robinson's claims that Hijazi had attacked schoolgirls in the U.K. were determined to be false, and he was banned from showing the documentary.

However, Robinson still publicly displayed it multiple times on the internet and in person at London's Trafalgar Square -- which led to the contempt of court charge.

Well, in January 2025, MMA legend Conor McGregor attended Donald Trump's presidential victory rally and inauguration festivities in America. McGregor also spoke about his own political ambitions in his native, Ireland.

A video posted to X by the "@CilComLFC" handle, featured him being asked about Robinson's imprisonment, the purported illegal immigration issues, and the alleged r*pe of Britain. McGregor responded by stating:

"You know, I cannot for the life of me understand why we wish to hide these horrific crimes, and these horrid crimes, and shield them from light. Light is the best disinfectant. And light is needed. So for anyone that sheds light on this, they do not deserve to be turned on in society. They deserve to be praised. So, you know, I pray for more light on the bad things that happen ... Thank you."

Conor McGregor received support from Tommy Robinson over the Dublin riots issue

Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor hasn't partaken in a professional combat sports contest since his leg injury at UFC 264 in July 2021. He's been teasing a potential boxing match against Logan Paul in India in 2025. Alternatively, UFC head honcho Dana White foresees McGregor returning to the octagon this fall.

Furthermore, the Irish combatant has often expressed concerns about the supposedly unchecked illegal immigration to Ireland. Back in November 2023, riots ensued after a reported stabbing spree outside a Dublin school. Speculation abounded that the stabbings were carried out by an illegal immigrant.

The Dublin riots reportedly witnessed violent clashes between protestors holding opposing political stances on immigration. Conor McGregor tweeted his condemnation of the stabbings, rioting, and the government too. Tommy Robinson notably tweeted his support for McGregor, writing:

"Conor McGregor 'We stand with those in mourning. Make change or make way.'"
