Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler recently got into a heated social media argument over U.S. presidential nominee Donald Trump choosing his favorite UFC fighter. Trump's decision infuriated McGregor, which sparked an X meltdown that compelled Chandler to join the discussion.
McGregor erupted on social media after Trump mentioned UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov as his favorite fighter in his latest interview with gaming streamer Adin Ross. The former UFC two-division champion blasted Nurmagomedov in a flurry of angry posts. He added that Trump should have chosen an American fighter over the former lightweight champion.
That did not sit well with Chandler, who criticized McGregor for pulling out of their scheduled fight at UFC 303, writing:
''Stop it….@TheNotoriousMMA. If you had half the ba*ls that DT had you would have shown up June 29th. Instead you’re normal walking, beer chuggin’ Austin 3:16 style at a local fight show/motorcycle rally in South Dakota, a RED, 100% #maga state by the way.''

In response, McGregor mocked Chandler, writing:
''Bro he doesn’t even know who the f**k you are lol. He probably thinks you are a little broke begging ar**wipe''
Chandler took offense and declared that he would defeat McGregor, writing:
''He does @TheNotoriousMMA. But that is neither here nor there. Here’s the deal - I beat your a*s in December…I bet my entire career on it. End the year back flipping over your lifeless body on the canvas.''
McGregor then offered his own justification for why Trump's choice was wrong, writing:
''My man, it was an abysmal choice for fighter. Be real with yourself, please. Horrific! And yes I look forward to December! It was going to be big bear originally for my camp but now it will be Colorado Springs instead!''
