Conor McGregor has written a heartfelt message to Katie Taylor following the Irish boxers first professional loss to Chantelle Cameron.
Taylor was hoping to continue her undefeated run when she made the walk to the ring at the 3Arena in Dublin in front of her own fans for the first time as a professional.
The 36-year-old was stepping up a weight class to face Cameron, where she aimed to capture the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring female light-welterweight titles from her British opponent.

The bout went the distance with both women having their moments, but the size and speed advantage of Chantelle Cameron soon became evident.
Whilst Katie Taylor certainly landed her trademark combinations, they were few and far between and she went on to lose the bout via majority decision (94–96, 94–96, 95–95).
Following her defeat, Conor McGregor, who sponsored the fight and was ringside, wrote a message to Taylor on Instagram. 'The Notorious' stated that he scored the fight a draw, but ultimately reitrated for 'KT' to keep her head held high.
He wrote:
"Our hero! Thank you for an amazing event @katie_t86! I had the fight scored a draw. A very close bout where you once again showed your heart, your skills, your fitness and your toughness. You are an Irish Warrior! I love you Katie, I am honored to know you and be in your presence! Thank you so much! Onwards and upwards we go! Just another day for Katie Tay! For God and for Country."
Conor McGregor weighs in on Francis Ngannou's deal with PFL
Conor McGregor recently sat down with Ariel Helwani for an interview with Matchroom Boxing, during which he gave his thoughts on Francis Ngannou's move to the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
PFL made the announcement last week and confirmed that 'The Predator' had signed a multi-fight deal with the organization. In the terms of the contract, the Cameroonian will earn a high seven-figure purse for each bout and his opponents will also earn a guaranteed sum. The 36-year-old also now owns equity in the organization and will head up PFL Africa as the chairman.
According to Conor McGregor, whilst he's happy for the former heavyweight champ, there are no PFL matchups for Ngannou that excite him:
"I'm happy for Francis first of all, fair play...he done his thing. I still think he should've came to a resolution with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Who is he gonna fight? Who is he gonna fight that's gonna capture the general public? There's no one."
