Dern and Ribas locked horns in a five-round strawweight showdon in the main event of UFC Vegas 101. The event took place on January 11 at the UFC APEX Facility in Enterprise, Nevada.
Th bout was a rematch as their first encounter took place over five years ago in October 2019. Ribas emerged as the victor that night via unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 in Ribas' favor.
But on January 11, Dern managed to avenge that loss as she submitted her opponent with an armbar, with just a few seconds left in the third round.
After the bout, Dern spoke with Michael Bisping for her post-fight octagon interview where she was asked about her future plans. The 31-year-old shared that she wanted to continue building her winning streak but was uncertain as to who she would share the octagon with next.
"I just want to get another win in a row, i don't know who that'll be. I would hope someone in front [in the rankings], but I fought almost everyone in the front. The only one [left] I think is Tatiana [Suarez] and she's going for the belt. So, I don't know. We'll see."
