Conor McGregor continues to give confusing responses to his potential return to the UFC octagon. McGregor has been on the sidelines since suffering a brutal leg break in the trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021. The Irishman was forced to pull out of his comeback fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 due to a toe injury and the new date of his return has not been announced.

Recently, a fan took to X and opined that McGregor no longer needs to be a prizefighter as he has built several successful businesses and earned a massive fortune after achieving the highest goal in the UFC.

McGregor replied:

"Ya know what, you’re right, good bye."

McGregor has made several contradictory statements about his future in fighting. After being a part of The Ultimate Fighter Season 32 in 2023, the Irishman had laid out a three-fight plan to compete against Chandler, Justin Gaethje, and Nate Diaz.

He later expressed the desire to challenge former welterweight champion Leon Edwards after potentially defeating Chandler to try and win the third UFC title. Unfortunately for McGregor, the subsequent toe injury and withdrawal from UFC 303 ended the conversations.

While attending the recent BKFC event in Spain, McGregor claimed that he would fight No.5-ranked UFC lightweight Dan Hooker in February 2025, but Hooker denied the claims. However, recent developments suggest that the Irishman could be aiming for another high-profile crossover boxing match.

Conor McGregor reached out to Terence Crawford

Conor McGregor shot to global fame with his success in the UFC and his popularity increased further after his crossover boxing match against Floyd Mayweather in 2017. While 'The Notorious' lost by TKO, he reportedly earned one of the highest purses for his efforts.

The former UFC double champion might be gunning for another big opportunity. Boxing champion Terence Crawford recently confirmed McGregor's claims that the Irishman reached out to him with a two-fight offer, potentially in boxing and MMA each.

While Crawford said he refused the offer, he recently shared a video of him from wrestling training and sent a message to McGregor, implying that he was getting ready for McGregor's MMA skills.
