Conor McGregor shares his excitement to potentially see Yoel Romero compete in BKFC

Conor McGregor recently expressed his enthusiasm about Yoel Romero's potential BKFC fight. The former UFC middleweight title contender has hinted that he is in active negotiations to enter the world of bare-knuckle boxing, and discussions are progressing rapidly.

During a recent appearance on the Overdogs Espanol podcast, Romero was asked about the possibility of making his BKFC debut soon. 'Soldier of God' responded diplomatically, neither confirming nor denying the speculations about venturing into the realm of bare-knuckle boxing:

"Hey, are you [podcast host] working undercover? We are cooking something. You all know that I come from a boxing family, and one thing I still have to do in life is fight in a ring, but this time, I only punch. We are cooking something soon. We are not talking about a year. We are talking about months."

'The Notorious', who acquired a stake in BKFC in April, fueled anticipation by endorsing Romero's potential signing with the combat sports promotion initially on X.

The former two-division UFC champion then took to his Instagram stories to react to a report, seemingly confirming Romero's deal with BKFC.

'Soldier of God' competed in the UFC from 2013 to 2020. Following his tenure, the 47-year-old Cuban native signed with Bellator. His most recent MMA fight was in February, where he secured a unanimous decision victory against Thiago Santos at the PFL vs. Bellator event.

When Yoel Romero appreciated Conor McGregor's hospitality in Ireland

During his interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani in September 2022, Yoel Romero mentioned that Conor McGregor had attended to all his requirements while he trained for his fight against Melvin Manhoef at Bellator 285 in Dublin, Ireland.

'Soldier of God' praised McGregor for his hospitality, stating that the Irishman had been very accommodating and had looked after his diverse needs:

"Conor has been great with me. He has provided me with everything I needed and more since I arrived in Ireland. Do I need a car? It's there. Do I need something to eat? It's there. Do I need a gym to train in? It's there. He has been so helpful, and I'm so thankful for his helping hand."
