It's undisputed that Conor McGregor is the most famous and watched MMA fighter of all time. And as it turns out, he's also the most played. EA Sports released its top five most-played male fighters in their massively popular game, EA Sports UFC.
The top five include Israel Adesanya, Sean O'Malley, Max Holloway, and Alex Pereira, and at the top of the list is McGregor. Currently, McGregor has three playable character models in the game, from 2013 when he first debuted, 2014 when he KO'd Dustin Poirier, and the 2021 look when he shaved his head.

"AND STILL!"
Although EA only specified EA Sports UFC 5, we could hazard a guess that Conor McGregor might be their most-played fighter, across all games. The fighting Irishman has been on the roster since the very first iteration of the game in 2014. He is also the only man to ever appear on the cover of the game twice, for EA Sports UFC 2 (with Ronda Rousey) in 2016 and for EA Sports UFC 3 in 2018.
UFC president Dana White on Conor McGregor's return: "He will fight in 2025"
Although fans love playing as Conor McGregor in video games, we're sure they'd love it even more if they see their favorite MMA star lace up the gloves again. Originally set to return at UFC 303 to break his three-year-long hiatus, 'The Notorious' had to pull out of his fight with Michael Chandler due to injury.
Since then, it's been weeks of rumors, speculations, and teasers of when MMA's biggest cash cow would finally make his comeback. Finally, UFC president Dana White set the record straight and gave fans a timeframe on when they'll see McGregor fight again.
During an interview with Robert Griffin III in the Outta Pocket podcast, White said:
"He's [McGregor's] fighting with everybody right now, but he's not fighting anybody right now. I've said this a lot and, you know, Conor has gotten into a position where he's made so much money and he has all these businesses that continue to make him a lot of money - it's tough to get up and fight when you're in the position that he's in, but I do believe that Conor Mcgregor will fight in 2025."
White didn't specify a date or an opponent yet, but we can rest assured that the Irish megastar will be fighting in the next calendar year.
