Belal Muhammad is out of his UFC 310 welterweight title defense and many online offered their thoughts on the withdrawal. Muhammad took to social media to post photos illustrating a bone infection in his foot. This infection requires 'Remember the Name' to go on a six-week run of antibiotics without any physical activity.
This scraps Muhammad's December bout against Shavkat Rakhmonov. The welterweight champ apologized to everyone who planned to come out and see his fight but mentioned he would be back sooner rather than later.
Several prominent MMA stars commented on the Instagram post with their well wishes and some key figures even offered their support on other social media platforms.

Belal Muhammad's instances of having to pull out
Belal Muhammad has had to pull out before from planned fights when unexpected health issues have reared their head at inopportune times.
In December 2020, Muhammad had to pull out of a planned UFC Fight Night matchup against Dhiego Lima when he tested positive for COVID-19. Despite him having to withdraw from that outing, he would eventually fight Lima at UFC 258. Muhammad would garner a unanimous decision win in their rebooked bout in February 2021.
The now-36-year-old also sustained an injury in September 2018 that scrapped a bout he had planned for UFC Fight Night 137. Muhammad was booked to fight Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos but had to withdraw from the contest due to an undisclosed injury.
Muhammad is not known for regularly pulling out of fights, with this being only the third documented instance of it happening.
The Chicago native will no longer headline the Dec. 7 pay-per-view offering. There is no word as of yet on whether the company is planning a new main event for the card or if the co-main event of Alexandre Pantoja defending his flyweight belt against former Rizin champion/UFC debutant Kai Asakura will be upgraded to headlining status.
In the aforementioned post, Shavkat Rakhmonov suggested fighting for an interim welterweight title against another healthy contender but no traction has been made with that at this juncture.
