Muhammad Mokaev may not have been re-signed by the UFC after completing his contract with the promotion earlier this year. But it appears he will take on budding UFC star Raul Rosas Jr. in a grappling match.
Both Mokaev and Rosas Jr. are regarded as talented wrestlers, with their MMA gameplans revolving heavily around securing their opponents on the ground.
Neither man has confirmed the potential fight as of yet, but 'The Punisher' recently took to X and wrote this:
"Young Blood vs. Young Blood. Dagestan vs. Mexico. Who can guess this matchup? It's a grappling match."

Shortly thereafter, Rosas Jr. took to his Instagram story and posted the following:
"Back in the grappling scene. Contract signed, this match will be [fire]."

Both fighters hold six submission wins in their professional MMA careers. Should the speculation about their potential grappling match be true, fans should keep their eyes peeled for a highlight-reel finish.
Muhammad Mokaev hasn't given up on UFC dream despite departure
Muhammad Mokaev was one of the brightest prospects in the UFC flyweight division. The undefeated fighter was 6-0 inside the octagon ahead of UFC 304, where he fought Manel Kape.
But several incidents involving both Mokaev and Kape outside of the octagon took place before their clash. The bad blood between them was evident as they almost came to blows in the octagon before their fight actually started.
'The Punisher' secured a decision victory in a fight that left fans underwhelmed given the fiery build-up to the exchange. Neither of the two fighters were willing to commit to strikes for almost the entire opening round.
Following the fight, UFC CEO Dana White appeared in front of the media, where he confirmed that the promotion would not be re-signing Mokaev.
The 24-year old was not pleased with the decision, and offered to compete in the UFC for free to appease the promotion's brass. The Dagestani eventually found a new home, and has signed with Brave CF, but Mokaev has not given up on his dream of becoming a UFC champion.
After signing with Brave CF, he wrote this online:
"Highest paid flyweight fighter in the world right now without holding the title @bravemmmaf. But of course my goal is to come back to the UFC because it is the number one promotion in the world right now!"
