Islam Makhachev is the star of the UFC 311 cold open narrated by renowned American actor, Ron Perlman. The clip was shared on Dana White's Instagram page, and it not only featured Makhachev, but fellow Dagestani teammate Umar Nurmagomedov, inevitably drawing the attention of fans.
Fans of Makhachev flooded the comment section of the post to sing the praises of the UFC's Dagestani contingent. Makhachev and Nurmagomedov are set to take part in title fights this Saturday, with Makhachev defending his lightweight title against a former foe Arman Tsarukyan.

They will head into UFC 311 under the guidance of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, who has traded octagon glory for a more understated role as a coach. Fans were quick to point out that the event almost seems like Dagestan facing the entire world ahead of Saturday's pay-per-view.
This was almost said, word-for-word, by one fan in particular.
"Dagestan vs whole world"
Another fan expressed their eagerness for Dagestan to potentially end UFC 311 with two championship belts.
"Islam horse riding scene is so cool, Dana! With that 2 belts for Dagestan! LFG!!"
This same sentiment was echoed in another comment.

The support for both men was widespread throughout White's comment section.

UFC 311 marks one of the most anticipated cards of the year, and a chance for the American Kickboxing Academy to continue its excellent run of form at the top of the sport.
Islam Makhachev could break a record at UFC 311
A win over Arman Tsarukyan won't come easily for anyone in the lightweight division. However, Islam Makhachev has beaten him before.
If he manages to do so again at UFC 311 and successfully defend his lightweight title for the fourth time, Makhachev will have broken the division's title defense record.
Currently, the divisional record consists of three title defenses and is jointly held by Khabib Nurmagomedov, B.J. Penn, Frankie Edgar, Benson Henderson, and Makhachev himself. A win this Saturday grants Makhachev the chance to pull away from the rest and put himself in a class of his own.
