Some fans were enraged by a moment in the bout where Mokaev appeared to pull down his opponent's pants during a grappling exchange on the ground.
At the commentary desk, Daniel Cormier argued that a point should have been deducted from' The Punisher' for his actions.
The incident led to Mokaev receiving backlash from MMA enthusiasts on social media.
One individual accused the 23-year-old of getting preferential treatment.
"Literally ripped his pants off and didn't get a deduction. Dagestani privilege is unreal."
Another argued for Mokaev to be sent to the PFL.
"BASED UFC. SEND HIM TO PFL... CHEATER. Fence grab, pants down, eye poke all in the same fight with NO POINTS TAKEN."
One user called the fight "weird."
"What a weird fight. Somehow a typical Manel Kape fight, and an even more boring Mokaev fight than usual. When you add the pre-fight "animosity" combined with the lack of action, [referee] warnings and pants grab, just an all-round strange contest."

The fight eventually went the three-round distance and ended in a unanimous decision win for Mokaev.
