Fans recently reacted to the news that newcomer Reinier de Ridder has been booked against a submission specialist for his octagon debut. The former two-division ONE champion is set to debut on the Fight Night card on Nov. 9, which will be headlined by a bantamweight clash between Miles Johns and former champion Cody Garbrandt.
The promotion appears to have high hopes for their new highly touted signing and will be testing him immediately as he is scheduled to fight Gerald Meerschaert. The veteran competitor has plenty of experience under his belt and recently surpassed Anderson Silva for most finishes in UFC middleweight history.

What is Reinier de Ridder's MMA record?
Reinier de Ridder has made a name for himself outside the UFC as he was a former two-division ONE champion and will look to replicate that success in the octagon.
The 34-year-old currently boasts an MMA record of 17-2, with his losses coming against Anatoly Malykhin. De Ridder is a submission specialist in his own right as 11 of his 17 wins have come via submission.
De Ridder will have plenty of momentum coming into his UFC debut as he is coming into the fight following his first-round TKO win over Magomedmurad Khasaev at UAE Warriors 51 this past July.
