Dan Hooker has recently struggled in the UFC, with high-profile losses against Islam Makhachev and Arnold Allen in back-to-back bouts. Despite these results, Hooker has remained in the top-15. HE is no longer a top-10 lightweight in the UFC rankings. 'The Hangman' currently sits #12 in the lightweight division, one spot higher than Conor McGregor.

The 32-year-old hasn't won in the UFC since 2021, when getting the better of Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266. Hooker won via unanimous decision after three rounds of fighting in Las Vegas.

'The Hangman' was on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC, beating James Vick, Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder after losing to Edson Barboza at UFC on FOX 31. But back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler trigged a poor run of form in the organization.

Dan Hooker will potentially have a chance to climb back into the UFC's top-10 when taking on Claudio Puelles in his next outing. The two lightweights will fight at UFC 281: Adesanya vs. Pereira next month, with Hooker aiming to avoid three defeats in a row.

Puelles has quickly made a name for himself since joining the UFC, amassing a record of 5 wins and just 1 loss in the organization after debuting in 2016.

When did Dan Hooker last win a UFC bout via stoppage?

It's no secret that Dan Hooker has been struggling to win in the UFC recently, with 'The Hangman' last winning via stoppage against James Vick. Hooker won via a first-round stoppage at UFC on ESPN 4: Dos Anjos vs. Edwards in 2019.

Since beating Vick, Hooker has managed to get the better of Al Iaquinta, Paul Felder and Nasrat Haqparast via decision. However, the 32-year-old has also suffered plenty of defeats during this time, losing to Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, Islam Makhachev and Arnold Allen.

Dan Hooker's latest loss against Allen was in the featherweight division. Given the poor result against the Englishman, 'The Hangman' has returned to the 155lbs division.

The 32-year-old's last fight in the UFC lightweight division was against the newly crowned champion, Islam Makhachev. However, the Russian easily handled Hooker, submitting him in the first-round at UFC 267: Błachowicz vs. Teixeira.
