In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Hooker gave his thoughts on the potential McGregor matchup, saying:
''I jumped in the ring, we had a few words inside of the ring but February 1 works for me in Saudi Arabia. We'll get that thing straight away.''
When asked about his conversation with McGregor, Hooker replied:
''We're kindred spirits, as you can say, we get along quite well. I think we're both very similar, there's a lot of similarities there. We just spoke in the ring and just. Yeah, like I'm on board. He's on board. We just need to get the UFC on board and we'll get this thing across the line."

McGregor hasn't competed since suffering a leg injury at UFC 264. The former two-division champion was scheduled to make his octagon comeback in a welterweight clash against Michael Chandler at UFC 303, however, a toe injury forced him out of the bout.
Meanwhile, after spending a year on the sidelines, Hooker made his successful return at UFC 305 by securing a split decision win against Mateusz Gamrot.
Dan Hooker talks about sharing the ring with Conor McGregor
Notably, Dan Hooker also attended BKFC Spain and was in the corner for Oscar Willis' fight against Ben Davis. In addition, the Kiwi was spotted chatting with Conor McGregor while holding a can of Forged Irish Stout.
Following Willis' win over Davis, Hooker spoke to The Schmo and discussed sharing the stage with McGregor, saying:
''I was outside the ring, didn't let me in the ring, but to come over here and see it in the flesh, the guy's [McGregor] so busy, he's got so many businesses coming out of his ears. He's a superstar, if I had that much money in the bank, he wouldn't catch me anywhere near cage.''
