Dan Hooker aims to prove he still belongs in lightweight contention with a win over Claudio Puelles
In a recent interview with The AllStar, UFC lightweight Dan Hooker accepted that with his recent losses, people might be questioning his position in the top 15 of the lightweight division.
Hooker explained that he plans on putting all the doubts to rest with a victory over up-and-coming unranked fighter Claudio Puelles:
"I understand the questions that get asked... does he still belong in the top echelon, in the top 15? Does he still belong in those rankings? So I'm happy to go outside of the rankings and answer that question. If they think that this kid is like on my level...I'm happy to show everyone that he is not. I know where I stand in the division and then how I stuck up in the top echelon."
Hooker added:
"[Puelles is] a tough kid, hungry kid, on a good streak. But I'm one of the best in the world."
