If you were not convinced already, a new trailer on Francis Ngannou’s ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle will hype you up to watch his upcoming crossover fight against Tyson Fury. Ngannou will take on the WBC heavyweight champion in a professional boxing match on October 28, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The short trailer sheds light on the Cameroonian fighter’s rise to the top of the combat sports world. Ngannou’s coach Dewey Cooper lent the background voice for the video and expressed supreme confidence in his pupil’s ability to pull off the upset. He said:

“If things play out we expect them to, this will be the world’s biggest upset in all the sports’ history. If there’s one person that deserves it, if there’s one person that can do it, it’s definitely ‘The Predator’ Francis Ngannou.”

Coach Cooper feels that the fight is not very different than the mountain of obstacles he has to climb throughout his life.

Francis Ngannou shows tremendous respect for Tyson Fury but promises to ‘grab everything and go’

Francis Ngannou took a major risk when he relinquished the UFC heavyweight title and left the organization to pursue opportunities like this among other reasons. However, he is at a major disadvantage in terms of experience in boxing.

While one would expect the display of bravado and trash talk to get in the opponent’s head in such a scenario, ‘Predator’ showed nothing but respect to his opponent Tyson Fury in a face to face discussion with him. Ngannou said:

“Of course! What do you think? We all know he is the best in the business. If you talk about boxing, basically heavyweight boxing, he is the man. But I still have confidence in myself because in the past, in my life, I’ve always been an underdog and I always prevailed when people didn’t expect me. I want to thank him for what he has done to put everything together - assemble everything for me to come grab and go!”
