Jon Jones' heavyweight career got off to a dominant start as he needed just over two minutes to pick up a first-round submission victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 to claim the heavyweight throne.
UFC president Dana White recently revealed that he believes 'Bones' would've dispatched former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou just as quickly. Speaking to TMZ Sports, the promotional frontman said:
“I’m not interested [in Jones vs. Ngannou]. I tried to make that fight for two years. He didn’t want the fight. Do you know what I mean? He didn’t want the fight. He left here without even having another deal in place, and I know how the boxing world is. It’s crazy, but Francis didn’t want to do it."
White added:

“I think that’s exactly the way the fight would’ve gone if [Ngannou] was in there, too. Him and Ciryl had a five-round war [at UFC 270], and if Ciryl doesn’t go for that submission, Ciryl probably wins that fight at the end of the fifth round there.”

While Francis Ngannou needed the judges to defeat Ciryl Gane at UFC 270, it is important to note that the former heavyweight champion was fighting with a torn ACL and MCL.
Ngannou is now a free agent, while Jon Jones is expected to face Stipe Miocic in his first heavyweight title defense later this year.
Jon Jones' heavyweight career: Francis Ngannou rules out potential bout with 'Bones'
Jon Jones did not face much of a challenge in his heavyweight debut as he was able to easily defeat Ciryl Gane. Francis Ngannou, who was originally rumored to face 'Bones' prior to his UFC departure, revealed that the highly-anticipated bout is unlikely to come to fruition.
Reacting to the UFC 285 main event on his YouTube channel, 'The Predator' said:
"The fight that I would have liked to have, but unfortuantely we are not there. That fight didn't happen and probably will never happen now that he's on a very long contract with the UFC so that's not happening anymore."

Ngannou was stripped of the heavyweight title following a contract dispute with the UFC. 'The Predator' shared that he requested that fighters have the ability to sign sponsorships, receive healthcare benefits, and have a representative present during UFC board meetings.
After his demands were denied, he was released from his contract and it remains to be seen where he will compete next.
