It appears Dana White's support for the NELK Boys paid dividends when it came to helping Donald Trump win the 2024 U.S. Presidential elections. According to a recent report, the YouTubers spent nearly $20 million to help the Trump campaign appeal to young male voters and help humanize the real estate baron for the general population.

Per an insider, the NELK Boys made major moves for the 78-year-old's political charge against Kamala Harris through their voter registration initiative, Send The Vote. This included an advertisement buying plan that targeted 1.1 million 18-to-34-year-old men in swing states. The NELK Boys were notably among the first to invite Trump on their podcast.

In a Politico report, the Trump official outlined why social media and online influencers were a key part of their campaign strategy and said:

"Embracing and providing access to people that are informing millions of people has to be an important part of our overall strategy, for sure." [H/t: Politico]

John Shahidi, one of the NELK Boys co-founders, also outlined how important it was to bypass traditional media and said:

Bypassing traditional media, being genuine, and giving a voice to the people overlooked by decades of ‘politics as usual’ was critical to his success, and we hope to visit him in Washington, D.C., soon to celebrate his epic victory.” [H/t: Politico]

Ariel Helwani on Donald Trump allegedly using Dana White for political gain

It's no secret that Donald Trump and Dana White share a very close relationship and have been close friends for decades. Given their camaraderie, it was no surprise to see White speaking at the Republican National Convention to introduce Trump and invite the former POTUS to major UFC events. White has also given speeches at Trump rallies in the past.

In a recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, the veteran journalist shared his thoughts on the relationship between White and Trump. Pointing out that White actively helped Trump further his political agenda, he said:

"We have never seen this before in North American sports... He is a former and soon-to-be current president getting this type of treatment. It's one thing to have him in the stands and say hello to everyone."

He continued:

"It's all political. It was political to bring him out for the past year. And kind of use the UFC as a lane in the campaign trail...But I do understand why the UFC does [this]... The leader of the Free World is a noted UFC fan and is choosing to routinely appear at their events and use them while they're using him. It's a mutually beneficial relationship. I get it."
