Ariel Helwani has brutally slammed Dana White for his altercation with his wife on New Year's Eve, as caught on tape. The footage clearly shows the intoxicated UFC president slapping his wife more than once in retaliation to her striking him first. In reference to the incident, the veteran MMA journalist sounded off on White's latest endeavor, Dana White's Slap Fighting League.
On a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani lambasted White's actions and questioned why broadcasters and the Nevada State Athletic Commission should not be associated with the new sport in light of Dana White's behavior.
Highlighting the irony of the 53-year-old's new league after the incident, Helwani stated:
"Shame on TBS if they're going to air that Slap Fighting League... Can you script it any worse?... Shame on anyone who picks it up afterwards after that. Shame on anyone who's covering that. Honestly, shame on all of you. Shame on Nevada for sanctioning that. The Nevada that doesn't sanction BKFC, they sanction that? You're kidding me?... Shame on all of them."
