Dana White has been very vocal about how he plans to put forth the greatest event in combat sports history at UFC 306, which will mark the promotion's first event at the Las Vegas Sphere. With the card just five days away, the UFC CEO shared some early details about the highly-anticipated event.
During a recent appearance on ESPN's First Take, the promotional frontman stated:
"We are going to put on this unbelievable entertainment event. There's a movie that's gonna run in the Sphere, right? There are chapters to this movie. So, before each fight is a movie, and you will be focused on the Sphere and the screen then the fighters will walk out and hopefully - what we're hoping is then the fight is the star of the show."
White continued:

"When that's over, there will be another movie then a fight. And basically this movie that I'm talking about and these chapters will tell the history of combat sports in Mexico, the history of the Mexican people, their traditions. It is what I call 'The Love Letter to Mexico.'"

White has made it clear that he plans on the event being the greatest that combat sports has ever seen. The promotion has reportedly spent $20 million and counting to ensure that things go exactly as per plan. Each bout on the card - aside from the main event between Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili - will feature a Mexican fighter.
Dana White shares his Mount Rushmore of mixed martial arts
Dana White has made it clear that he believes Jon Jones is the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time. The UFC CEO recently shared the rest of his Mount Rushmore, including three names for their contributions in helping the growth of the sport. Speaking to ESPN MMA, White stated:
"You got to go with Jon Jones. You'd have to go with Ronda Rousey. Women would not be fighting in the UFC if it wasn't for her. You would have to put [Georges St-Pierre] in there and absolutely, positively Conor McGregor. He elevated and changed the game globally."
