Danial Williams believes he could knock out Joseph Lasiri if they fight

'Mini T' Danial Williams has mixed it up in the ONE circle. The Australian-Thai fighter has competed in both MMA and Muay Thai during his time in ONE Championship.

In MMA, Williams has earned a 3-1 record in ONE thus far. However, he began his promotional run as a Muay Thai fighter. His first and lone fight in Muay Thai in ONE Championship was an all-out war against Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

While he has been focused on MMA, 'Mini T' has seen ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion 'The Hurricane' Joseph Lasiri compete and he likes his odds in a potential matchup. Lasiri recently fought Rodtang in a losing battle.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Danial Williams stated:

"I’ve seen that fight. I’m going to make it an exciting fight and I think I’ll pick him apart. Not to be too egotistical but in every area, I just think I’ll do a good performance. He’s tough and he would be hard to stop."

The Moroccan-Italian Lasiri is notoriously tough, but Williams believes he can focus on his finishing ability if they are to fight and end the match via knockout:

"But that would be all that I’ll be training for and preparing to stop him because not many people have. I just see a lot of openings in him, I see a lot of the same technique that he throws over the last few fights."

Danial Williams may be seeking a Muay Thai world title

Joseph Lasiri knocked out Asahi Shinagawa to earn his top contender spot. The Moroccan-Italian then clobbered the then-world champion Prajanchai PK.Saenchai until he quit on the stool. However, 'The Hurricane' finished 2022 in a losing effort against Rodtang.

Danial Williams has a base in Muay Thai but has largely been concentrating on MMA recently. After seeing Lasiri against Rodtang, Williams is more interested in returning to the ONE circle in Muay Thai.

Williams and Rodtang had one of the best wars of 2021, which was awarded '2021 ONE Super Series Fight Of The Year' by ONE Championship.

'Mini T' is looking to compete in multiple sports in 2023. Meanwhile, Rodtang will be stepping away from Muay Thai to focus on kickboxing. The Thai phenom will be competing at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video on January 13 (US primetime) against China's Jiduo Yibu. The event will be broadcast live and for free for all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
