'Mini T' Danial Williams does sparring quite irregularly in his training cycle. Each fighter is unique in how they choose to approach sparring and the Thai-Australian striker has found what works best for him.
The kickboxing world title contender explained his attitude in an interview with ONE Championship. He said:
"I don't do much sparring at all. I feel like I save it for the fight. In my camps last year, I sparred barely anything. But when I do spar, it's quite light as well. It's just getting that muscle memory for throwing the shots with defense and then moving the head. Lots of improvement."
Williams will need all the strength he can get as he is about to fight for kickboxing gold in ONE Championship. Rodtang is injured and out of the match, and 'Mini T' was more than willing to step up to the plate.

Danial Williams wants a world title in ONE Championship
The Thai-Australian striker 'Mini T' Danial Williams is hungry to earn a world title in ONE Championship. While he was initially aiming for Muay Thai gold, a kickboxing world title against Superlek at ONE Fight Night 8 is a big deal.
On discussing how much he wants ONE gold, Williams explained:
"I really want the Muay Thai title shot. That's my goal. I want to take this fight, hopefully, get the title shot after this one. That's my plan right now. It's sort of my main focus, but hey, if ONE chucks me in an MMA fight, I want that rematch with my last fight, so if that gets thrown at me, I'll tell you in a heartbeat."
Instead, Danial Williams will now be fighting for the ONE strawweight kickboxing world title against reigning world champion Superlek. The 29-year-old will be looking to fly home crowned as a world champion.
