After making his debut in ONE Championship, Danial Williams decided to temporarily leave Muay Thai behind.
In his first appearance inside the circle, Williams displayed his Muay Thai skills in a classic contest with Rodtang Jitmuangnon, but then turned his attention towards other goals.
Since his debut, ‘Mini T’ has been competing in the strawweight MMA division with dreams of becoming a world champion in three martial arts disciplines.
Thanks to his former foe Rodtang dropping out of the main event of ONE Fight Night 8 this weekend, Williams will get the chance to win one of these world championships. He's stepped in on late notice to face flyweight kickboxing champ Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Whilst this fight will prove that Danial Williams can compete at a high level in MMA, Muay Thai and kickboxing, he still has some unfinished business with the martial art that announced him in ONE Championship.
ONE’s Friday Fights series, hosted at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing stadium, has caught Williams’ eye. He is hoping to tick that one off sometime in the near future.
In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:
“Yeah, man, that'll be cool. When I finished Muay Thai, in my head, the only thing I didn't really get to do was to fight at Lumpinee. And now there's that chance. That's really good. It would be cool to get a ONE Lumpinee card. I love the Saturday morning card. I mean, any fight they give me will be awesome, isn't it?”
Danial Williams to face Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8
Danial Williams has established himself as a fan favorite fighter in ONE Championship. So, when the promotion neededed someone to step-up, they knew who to call.
Scheduled to compete against Rui Botelho at ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, the fight would have been Williams’ return to Muay Thai. Just several days before the event, however, the promotion announced that the main event superfight between Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Rodtang Jitmaungnon was called off due to an injury to ‘The Iron Man’.
Stepping into his former opponent's place, Danial Williams will now challenge ‘The Kicking Machine’ for the flyweight kickboxing world championship in the newly crowned titleholder’s first defense.
Whilst fans were disappointed to lose one the most highly anticipated striking contests of the year, you can bet your house on the fact that Williams will show up and put on a show for the fans.
The challenger clearly has a huge task but an even bigger opportunity on his hands to step in at the last minute and ruin Superlek’s party.
ONE Fight Night 8 is live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 24. The entire event will air live and for free via Prime Video for North American viewers.
