Apart from performing in front of fight fans, Australian striker Danial Williams also likes communicating with them, even about non-competition stuff.
'Mini T' said having conversations with combat sports aficionados here and there makes it all the more fulfilling for him as an athlete as he gets to stay connected.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Danial Williams shared that he enjoys the exchange he has with fans about practically anything, saying:

“I’m pretty good with just talking about things outside of fighting as well, and I mean, the martial arts and stuff as well. So maybe saying something about the shirt they’re wearing. Trying to make these small conversations with them and then remember their names when they come in. That was what I always liked.”
He added:
“When people remember you or remember something about you, then that’s a real confidence-building thing. It’s like, ‘Oh, I’m being seen. I’m not in the corner all the time.”
Fight fans will get to see Williams back in action in his Muay Thai return at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 in Singapore. He will be taking on Rui Botelho of Portugal in a strawweight showdown.
It will be Danial Williams’ first Muay Thai contest since his ONE Championship debut in April 2021, where he figured in an absolute war against ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon. 'Mini T' spent his last four matches competing in mixed martial arts.
ONE Fight Night 8 will happen at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. It will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
“They give us good fights” - Danial Williams hails ONE Championship’s lower weight class divisions
Always on the lookout for quality competition, Australian flyweight fighter Danial Williams feels fortunate to be fighting under ONE Championship as lower weight class division athletes like him get exactly that.
'Mini T' joined the promotion two years ago and has already figured in five matches, four of which took place in 2022. It is something the Scrappy MMA affiliate is grateful for.
He told ONE Championship in an interview:
“They put more effort into the promotion. They give us good fights, we’re active. There’s always a strawweight or a flyweight on the card, compared to some other promotions.”
However, Danial Williams said it is not unwarranted considering the type of competition present in the lower weight classes in ONE and in Asia in general:
“We started in Asia, and Asia is shorter in general, so I guess there’s a lot of competition over here in those divisions. When the guys make this promotion, they’ve had to run through a lot of competition.”
Danial Williams kicks off what he hopes will be another busy year on March 24 when he takes on Portuguese Rui Botelho in a strawweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video in Singapore.
'Mini T' is looking to rebound after losing in his last fight against Filipino Jeremy Miado by technical knockout in a mixed martial arts battle in October.
Botelho, for his part, has been trying hard to find his footing in ONE since debuting in 2018. He hopes to catch a break at ONE Fight Night 8.
