Australian slugger Danial Williams has no problem moving divisions and the case is the same in his scheduled world title showdown with ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 this week.
Originally set to compete in a strawweight Muay Thai contest at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24 in Singapore, 'Mini T' was bumped up to the main event of the show earlier this week and vie for the flyweight kickboxing gold.
Danial Williams replaced Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who had to pull out of the Superlek fight because of injury.
In an interview with SCMP MMA, the striker from Perth, Australia, said he had no problems transitioning to flyweight from strawweight, having been used to such situations.

Danial Williams said:
“When I found out the news man, I was like ‘sweet!’ I ran down, got some food, you know. I don’t struggle getting to strawweight anyway but it’s just the fact that I’m gonna be a little bit heavier now.”
He continued:
“You know, I’ve always been the small guy growing up. In the footy games at that, I just feel like I'm built for this and I love being the underdog. Good that I can eat and enjoy fight week with all the nice food that they have here.”

At ONE Fight Night 8, “Mini T” has the grand opportunity to fulfill his goal of winning a ONE world title in 2023. He, however, is expected to have a tough task against Superlek, who intends to have a first successful world title defense after becoming world champion back in January.

Danial Williams replaced Rodtang to fight Superlek for flyweight kickboxing gold
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 has a new opponent in Australian striker Danial Williams in the main event at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video this week.
'Mini T' comes in as a late replacement for Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who had to exit because of an injury from the Superlek fight happening on March 24 in Singapore.
Danial Williams was plucked from his original fight against Portuguese Rui Botelho in a strawweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 8 to take on the challenge of cutting short the reign of “The Kicking Machine,” who became world champion just last January.
Despite the sudden change, Thai-Australian slugger Williams expressed his readiness, believing he is in solid game shape following his training at Kao Sok Muay Thai and from the one he had during his trip to Thailand back in February.
