Danial Williams could be excused for feeling some pressure ahead of ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24.
Originally scheduled to return to Muay Thai in Singapore with a fight against Rui Botelho, Williams was offered an opportunity that he couldn’t refuse.
After the announcement that Rodtang Jitmuangnon would no longer be able to compete in the main event due to an injury, Williams stepped up into his slot to face Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the flyweight kickboxing world championship.
Whilst some fighters would find the task of taking on the best in the world with only a few days' notice, Williams is going into this fight with nothing to lose and approaching it like it is any ordinary contest.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post on YouTube, ‘Mini T’ spoke about his mindset ahead of this huge main event clash for the world title:
“But you know, it’s just another day in the office for me. I always train hard. I wanna put on the best performance that I can. Another human being I’m facing, so it’s just exciting that it’s Superlek and yeah he’s the best in the world. Just can’t wait for it really.”

Danial Williams’ goal is to fight at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium
Danial Williams has been able to accomplish a lot under the ONE Championship banner, showcasing his versatility as a martial artist.
After making his debut in the promotion with a late notice Muay Thai contest against Rodtang Jitmuangnon, which announced himself as a fan favorite, Williams has proven that he can compete at a high level in striking and in MMA.
He will look to do exactly that once again when he steps in to take his former foe Rodtang’s place in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24.
Attempting to dethrone the flyweight kickboxing world championship Superlek Kiatmoo9 with just a few days' notice, Williams has shown time and time again that he will not back away from a challenge.
One aspect of ONE Championship that is new since Williams last competed under a striking-only ruleset is the ONE Friday Fights Series.
Hosted at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, the weekly events showcase some of the best strikers in the world going toe-to-toe and have consistently produced incredible fights and highlight-reel performances.
In an interview with ONE Championship, he said that competing at Lumpinee is one thing that he still needs to tick off before calling time on his career:
“Yeah, man, that'll be cool. When I finished Muay Thai, in my head, the only thing I didn't really get to do was to fight at Lumpinee. And now there's that chance. That's really good. It would be cool to get a ONE Lumpinee card. I love the Saturday morning card. I mean, any fight they give me will be awesome, isn't it?”
