Growing up as a shy kid who battled with self-confidence, Danial Williams wouldn’t be the athlete we know today if he hadn’t discovered martial arts.
The skills that he built during his very first training session was invaluable to a kid who felt like he didn’t belong. Coming from a Thai-Australian background, ‘Mini-T’ struggled to find his place in social circles as a mixed-race child.
According to Williams, he used to be afraid of trying new things, meeting new people, and getting out of his comfort zone, because he feared being discriminated against. Thankfully, the negative perceptions he made up about himself changed drastically when he discovered martial arts.
Through discipline and hard work, Williams’ social skills began to improve and so did his self-confidence.

Speaking to ONE Championship, Danial Williams explained how martial arts changed his life:
“Martial art is a massive confidence-building platform. Because you start to step out of your comfort zone massively, physically and mentally, that’s a very important way to improve when you do step out of those comfort zones. So yeah, martial arts is one of my lifesavers, I suppose. It gives me passion and drive and made me understand myself better.”
Danial Williams returns to Muay Thai in a strawweight showdown against Portuguese strawweight Rui Botelho at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, which takes place on Friday, March 24 in Singapore.
His first Muay Thai bout against Rodtang Jitmuangnon back in April 2021, is still considered to be one of the greatest Muay Thai fights under the promotion. He never backed down and kept up with Rodtang’s incredible pace from start to finish to make this fight as entertaining as possible. So expect ‘Mini-T’ to rain down the punches on his opponent and fight as if he had a feud to settle.

Following his Muay Thai battle with Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Danial Williams faced Thai legend Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in a highly-contested MMA battle at ONE: Bad Blood early last year.
Unafraid to brawl, both fighters landed some great strikes from the outside, but it was Williams who was getting the better of those exchanges. He picked his opponent apart with power punch after power punch, until landing the money shot to end the match in the second round.
