Daniel Cormier has shared his thoughts on Jon Jones' potential heavyweight title fight against Tom Aspinall.
Jones has consistently dismissed the idea of fighting Aspinall, emphasizing that it wouldn’t significantly enhance his legacy. Instead, he has expressed a desire to face reigning light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in a super fight.
Many fans believe this move is a strategy to secure a higher pay raise from the UFC to take on Aspinall. Several fighters have called out ‘Bones,’ claiming he is afraid to face the UK-born fighter.
However, in a recent video on his YouTube channel, Cormier dismissed these assertions, stating that everyone knows the reigning heavyweight champion is not afraid to fight Aspinall. He also acknowledged that Jones understands the unique challenge Aspinall brings into their clash.

“People started talking, and Jan Blachowicz said he feels like Jones is a little afraid of Aspinall, that's why he's calling out Pereira and asking for so much money. One thing Jones isn't afraid of, I think we've covered that time and time again. Jones is not afraid of Tom Aspinall. I think Jones recognizes, though, that this is a unique challenge and one that, if he isn't on his game, Tom Aspinall can win, or at least it would seem that way.”

Dana White reveals Jon Jones' stance on fighting Tom Aspinall
UFC CEO Dana White has firmly stated that if Jon Jones continues in the UFC, his next fight would be against Tom Aspinall and not Alex Pereira. He also labeled this matchup as the biggest fight in UFC history.
During his appearance on ESPN’s First Take, White said:
"[Jon Jones] has never said behind the scenes, 'I won't fight Tom Aspinall.' It's the exact opposite… Jones is like 37 [or] 38 years old now, has these huge gaps in between fights, he is not afraid to fight Tom Aspinall. He will fight Aspinall and it will be the biggest fight in UFC history."
