Daniel Cormier was full of praise for a particular UFC employee who has done an excellent job managing the promotion's business over the years. Cormier touted the individual as the next in line to succeed Dana White as UFC's head honcho.
The person mentioned above is Hunter Campbell, the UFC's Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer, a post he has held since April 2019.
In an interview with MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn, Cormier talked about the top five influential UFC figures from the previous year. The UFC Hall of Famer expressed his thoughts on Campbell's status as one of the organization's most important figures, saying:
''When was the last time you heard an executive’s name called as many times as Hunter Campbell? He has developed a way of relating to the athletes and their managers that makes fights that seem like they won’t happen, or can’t happen, come together. It was only a few years ago that he took the lead on negotiations and everything.''

Cormier added:
''Then you develop this appreciation for making the negotiations easy because at times they can be so difficult. But just listen to the amount of fighters that not only tip their cap to Dana White anymore, but to Hunter Campbell.''

Campbell has a significant impact on the company's current operations. The 40-year-old is largely seen as White's successor in office when he retires. Campbell is frequently mentioned by the UFC CEO as one of the few people who accompanies him to his renowned "war room" where they spend hours scheduling bouts.
When Dana White humorously accused Hunter Campbell during their trip to Saudi Arabia
Dana White revealed that he was fasting during his visit to Riyadh for UFC Saudi Arabia last year. Then, in a hilarious jab at Hunter Campbell for eating food on the plane, the UFC CEO said:
''I'm four hours into the flight to Saudi. I'm fasting. I got this dude back here who just ate half of everything that was on the plane and then I got this dude [Hunter Campbell] over here who ate the other half of everything that was on the plane. It's gonna be a long flight to Saudi."

The two have a close relationship since many believe Campbell is White's right hand and could eventually succeed him as UFC CEO.
