Daniel Cormier believes that Jon Jones should convince the UFC to give him Alex Pereira if he gets past Stipe Miocic.
Many consider Jones the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. However, at 36, the UFC heavyweight champion is in the twilight years of his career. Last year, he hinted at his possible retirement after the fight against Miocic. They are rumored to duke it out at UFC 309 in New York.
Meanwhile, last weekend at UFC 303, 'Poatan' made light work of Jiri Prochazka in their light heavyweight title fight rematch. During his post-fight interview, the Brazilian reiterated his desire to move up to heavyweight.
It looks like Jones took notice of 'Poatan's' performance. In a recent post on X, the two-division champion stated that he was unsure about retirement since there were numerous exciting options currently available. This has sparked tremendous fan interest in Jones vs. Pereira.

'DC' believes Jones vs. Pereira has all the makings of a pay-per-view blockbuster. During a recent segment of Funky and The Champ podcast with Ben Askren, Cormier said:
"I'll tell you one thing Jones said, now he might stick around because he goes, 'the options are looking great.' If I'm Jones, I fight Stipe, I beat Stipe and I call out the UFC to make Pereira go up, knowing that you could take all that thunder, because Jones vs. Pereira would be a massive pay day."

Daniel Cormier and Ben Askren believe Jon Jones has the upper hand against Alex Pereira
While Daniel Cormier wants Jon Jones to explore a fight with Alex Pereira, Cormier and his co-host Ben Askren are convinced 'Bones' is a nightmare match-up for 'Poatan'.
'Funky' believes Pereira won't last long in the cage with 'Bones':
"It feels like that'll be similar to Ciryl Gane."
For context, it took Jones only under half a round to submit Ciryl Gane during their UFC 285 heavyweight title showdown. Like Pereira, Gane is also primarily a kickboxer and pails to Jones when it comes to grappling.
