Daniel Cormier recently weighed in on Ciryl Gane's devastating loss against Jon Jones at UFC 285 and outlined one interesting reason behind the Frenchman's poor performance.
'Bones' made his heavyweight debut against 'Bon Gamin' last weekend when the two men faced each other to decide who would take home the vacant heavyweight title. Jones showed no signs of ring rust as he put Gane away just 124 seconds into the bout with a first-round submission win.
Daniel Cormier recently broke down Gane's loss and pointed out that the Frenchman's admiration for Jon Jones affected his mindset and judgment during the fight.

In an episode of the DC & RC show, Cormier cited the picture above of Gane looking shocked after his loss and stated:
"I interviewed Ciryl Gane the other day for my YouTube channel... He said, 'I'm not a fan of Jon Jones,' and that was the title... I believed him, and so did so many others... But when the competition started, it did not feel like it... When he walked away from him... Ciryl Gane looked shook...You cannot be enamored with the guy you're fighting."

Daniel Cormier on Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic
Daniel Cormier expects Stipe Miocic to be a more formidable opponent for Jon Jones than Ciryl Gane. Dana White recently confirmed that the former heavyweight champion is next in line for a title shot against 'Bones,' with both men eager to make it happen.
'DC' has previously fought both men, facing off against 'Bones' twice as a light heavyweight. Jon Jones won their first contest and had his second victory against Cormier overturned into a no-contest. Meanwhile, Cormier and Miocic have fought thrice, with 'Stone Cold' going 2-1 over Cormier.
Daniel Cormier recently claimed that the 40-year-old American's elite wrestling background would give Jones problems, unlike Ciryl Gane.
In an interview with ESPN, Daniel Cormier weighed in on the potential matchup, saying:
"This will be a much tougher fight, and honestly, most thought that it should be Stipe Miocic in the octagon tonight. But Ciryl Gane was the one that was chosen to fight. Many thought he could present some real challenges to Jon Jones."
He continued to talk about the wrestling prowess of Miocic::
“But it was proven very quickly that they weren’t on the same level. Stipe Miocic, though, will be much tougher for Jon Jones. Because not only does he have the wrestling to defend takedowns, he also is a champion himself with a lot of championship experience.”
