"The most exciting part about facing Mayssa, I mean, it's the fact that it's our first match together, so it's gonna be really exciting."
"I know she's getting ready for ADCC the next two weeks, and she's been competing. So I feel like she has a lot more advantage over me, so that does make her more of a favorite to win."
Nonetheless, Kelly is not a pushover. In fact, she has a stellar record with the organization, including her status as the inaugural queen of her division.
Regardless of the outcome, this submission grappling match is a must watch for the fans.
Danielle Kelly expects a tough fight from Mayssa Bastos
ONE atomweight submission grappling queen Danielle Kelly is renowned for her aggressive style, but she will now meet her match in Mayssa Bastos.
For that reason, she wants Bastos to have the same offensive mindset when they clash at ONE Fight Night 24 as co-headliners of the event on August 2.
In fact, Kelly told ONE Championship about how she wants Bastos to come at her and be aggressive in hunting for submissions.
She said:
"I'm hoping she tries to attack me, and maybe she'll go for a leg lock. She did that in some matches, but I haven't seen her do that recently. I'm excited. I want her to try to attack me."
