Rising American star Danielle Kelly recently compared her upcoming opponent's grappling style to an MMA legend.
The New Jersey native is scheduled to face judo sensation Ayaka Miura in a catchweight submission grappling bout at ONE Fight Night 7. The event will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video on February 24.
Danielle Kelly will be welcoming her opponent to the sport of submission grappling, but she has high praise for Miura, telling reporters at the pre-fight presser:
"Then my opponent Ayaka. I watched her fights recently. And she makes the same moves. I call her a mini Ronda Rousey. I think it's pretty cool that she submits these girls with the same move. And like these girls that know that it's going to happen to them, she still does it. So I find that very impressive of her. I feel like those three girls stand out to me."

Danielle Kelly lists three opponents she'd like to face in the future
The 27-year-old is on a mission for gold, while also determined to bring more attention to women's jiu-jitsu. In the lead-up to her upcoming bout, Kelly listed three marquee opponents she'd like to fight in the future.
She stated:
"I have mentioned this before. I mentioned Angela Lee. I think because she's a big name as well. It would bring a lot of eyes to women's jiu-jitsu. She's a big name in ONE Championship and MMA. I think that would be a good matchup. Another one was Jessa Khan."
Danielle Kelly added:
"I know she signed. I don't know. I haven't seen her really compete, but that would be a good match-up and history. So I would definitely like to get that one back. And the third one, I would say, Itsuki [Hirata]. She also has a lot of attention on her, and she's from New York now. So those would be my top three big names. They have a lot of attention on them."
Kelly hopes that ONE creates a submission grappling world title for the women's strawweight division so that she can join Mikey Musumeci and Kade Ruotolo as the promotion's submission grappling champions.
Make sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 to watch Danielle Kelly take on Ayaka Miura in a women's catchweight submission grappling bout, live from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
