ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion Danielle Kelly views Mayssa Bastos as one of the toughest tests of her career. That, however, does not mean the Silver Fox BJJ affiliate doesn't see a way to overcome the experienced Brazilian in their co-main event fixture at ONE Fight Night 24.

The 28-year-old defends her gold against the nine-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, August 2, ready to walk the talk and prove why she's among the best at what she does.

Speaking to Jordan Teaches Jiujitsu recently, Danielle Kelly gave her take on why she's not entirely afraid to square off against her decorated foe:

"I'm pretty well aware of what she's good at because she does the same thing. But it's just like, you know, like anyone else that's going to walk into a match, she's beatable."

The Philadelphia native is riding on a healthy streak of victories as she heads into arguably her trickiest tests – one that will have all the knowledge and expertise to pull off an upset inside the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' in Bangkok, Thailand.

After an impressive showing versus MMA veteran Mei Yamaguchi, the divisional queen reeled off three successive victories over Mariia Molchanova, Ayaka Miura, and Jessa Khan.

Meanwhile, the Art of Jiu-Jitsu athlete is out to double her tally on the global stage after a debut win against Kanae Yamada at ONE Fight Night 20 this past March.

Danielle Kelly not fully sold on Bastos' promotional bow

Though Bastos has done enough to enter the world title picture, Danielle Kelly admits she was more impressed by Yamada's output instead of the former's.

In the same interview, the ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion went on to add:

"I watched her in the Yamada match, and I was more impressed with Yamada, you know? The first two minutes I thought Mayssa might get the finish, but Yamada really toughened it out, and I don't think she's getting that much credit."

North American fight fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire ONE Fight Night 24 card live in U.S. primetime for free this Friday, August 2.

Alternatively, fans around the world can catch the action on the promotion's official YouTube channel and the ONE Super App.
