Danielle Kelly excited to compete in a boxing ring in Thailand

American grappling specialist Danielle Kelly is very excited to be competing at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Her next match is booked for ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video and will take place inside a ring.

Regarding her February 24 bout, Kelly told Game Breakers:

"Well it’s actually in Thailand and what makes it special, I mean it’s ONE Championship and I get to compete in front of thousands, but also the place is gonna be in a ring. I’ve never really competed inside of a ring so that’s gonna be interesting."

Competing in a ring in Bangkok, Thailand, reminds her of the 1988 Jean-Claude Van Damme classic movie Bloodsport. She continued:

"It kinda reminds me of Bloodsport, so I feel like I’m in a movie once I go out there and compete. But yeah, I’m the only American coming into this match so I can’t wait to represent and just show off my jiu-jitsu."

Danielle Kelly will face Japanese judoka 'Zombie' Ayaka Miura on Prime Video at the ONE Fight Night 7. The two athletes will put their submission grappling skills to the test.

Danielle Kelly is confident in her ability to defeat Ayaka Miura

Ayaka Miura is an MMA fighter with a judo background. She is a grappling specialist, having won all of her MMA bouts in ONE by way of submission. Coming in with a size advantage, she will pose a unique threat to Danielle Kelly.

However, BJJ star Danielle Kelly is confident coming into this matchup due to how much homework she and her team have been doing ahead of time. In an interview with ONE, she said:

"So Jay, my other coaches, and I watched a few of her matches. I've been working on my wrestling. I'm trying to get back to that because I used to wrestle a lot. I don't want to be just a guard puller."

Kelly also believes it will be a fun match for the audience. She continued:

"I think it'd be a fun match. Because I know she's a judo black belt I think she does a lot of takedowns or MMA fights. So yeah, we're figuring out her game."
