Since arriving in ONE Championship, Danielle Kelly has been constantly linked with one of the promotion's biggest stars.
Women’s atomweight world champion Angela Lee is known for her grappling skills and with the arrival of a submission grappling competitor like Kelly on the roster, there was always going to be the potential of seeing them face off.
Angela Lee's abilities on the mat aren’t just exclusive to her though. The Lee family as a whole have shown their credibility in grappling.
Her youngest sister Victoria Lee has emerged as one of the best upcoming prospects in MMA at just 18 years old.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Danielle Kelly was asked about Victoria and how she compares to her older sibling whom Kelly has called out for a grappling match somewhere down the line:
“Yeah, I've also watched her [Victoria] too. She's also very talented. Is she also at atomweight?”
She added:
“Yeah. I think she's technical, you know, she's young. Yeah, I mean, I haven't really seen her. I've seen her striking, I haven't really seen her ground game but I'm assuming they're very similar because they train together and they train in the same spot.”
Kelly recently got off the mark in ONE Championship by picking up her first submission win inside the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4, submitting Mariia Molchanova.
“This is my life” - Danielle Kelly can’t see herself without Brazilian jiu-jitsu
Danielle Kelly can’t imagine her life without Brazilian jiu-jitsu after the impact that it has had on her. At 27 years old, Kelly has established herself as one of the brightest up-and-coming stars in the world of submission grappling.
Kelly delivered on the hype with her first submission win inside the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4. After her debut at ONE X ended in a draw, Kelly submitted Mariia Molchanova in November to really kick-start her rise in ONE Championship.
In an interview with the promotion, Kelly spoke about the impact that Brazilian jiu-jitsu has had on her life as she establishes herself as the premier female submission grappling star:
“I just had a really rough spot in my life. I met some of the greatest people in the sport who I call my family. So now, I look back, I can't really see what I would do without jiu-jitsu.”
Danielle Kelly continued:
“This is my life, and it makes me happy and it also makes me want to be a better person, better myself on and off the mats. So, you know, I think it's a huge stone in my life, so I don't think I could ever walk away from it.”
