Danielle Kelly wants to use her skills and experience to help the next generation of Brazilian jiu-jitsu stars.
Training from a very young age herself, Kelly believes she understands how to teach children who are just starting out in the sport. In an interview with ONE Championship, Kelly shared her passion for teaching, saying:
“I know how to teach people, and I try to help people understand it. And I was a kid at the sport at one point and I think having that ability helps me help the younger generation who want to learn from me.

“I teach the kids' classes, or when kids or teens come to my seminars, they will learn from me, and I have the ability to help them, I know how to teach them. I know what they expect, especially because I was a shy kid. And whenever I reach out to other shy kids, I'm like, 'I understand you and I can help you.'”
While Danielle Kelly isn’t busy teaching the next generation of submission grapplers, she’s busy dominating inside the circle. Kelly is fresh off her return to the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4 where she dominated sambo world champion Mariia Molchanova, submitting her in just over two minutes to score her first stoppage under the ONE Championship banner.
Danielle Kelly prides herself on being a mentor to young women
Having struggled with her own coaching and support system in her younger years, Danielle Kelly knows the importance of surrounding yourself with good people and having someone you can lean on for guidance and advice. That’s why Kelly prides herself on being there for young women, and generally anybody who wants to learn and take BJJ seriously:
"And I always tried to help people that, I try to give advice, especially to young females, everyone, or anyone that's doing the sport or that wants to take it seriously, is to surround yourself with good people. Because that's really going to help."
Kelly’s hard work backed by a strong support system has led her to the global stage, signing with ONE Championship in early 2022. Already the most recognized name in women’s submission grappling, Kelly will continue to climb the ranks with aspirations of becoming the promotion’s first female submission grappling world champion.
