Rising star Danielle Kelly hasn't looked back since signing with ONE Championship earlier this year. She believes that the promotion stands above all others due to one specific reason — respect.
The 27-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu sensation picked up her first win inside the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4. Her standing rear-naked choke on Mariia Molchanova earned her a sweet $50,000 performance bonus from ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Now that she has some experience competing under ONE's banner, Kelly feels certain that she made the right choice. She told the promotion:
"ONE Championship, I always say what makes them different from the others, is that they are respectful. I like how everyone respects each other, especially, just respect is number one. Two, it's mixed styles."

Following her first ONE victory, Kelly's respect for her opponent was crystal clear as she and Molchanova embraced and shared some kind words with one another.
Danielle Kelly unimpressed by Angela Lee's ground game
A matchup between Kelly and ONE women's atomweight champion Angela Lee has been discussed ever since the former entered the organization. Kelly has stoked that fire by claiming not to be all that impressed with the champ's grappling skills.
She told ONE:
"I haven't really seen her ground game. But I know she went against Mei Yamaguchi. Like, it was back-and-forth action. But when I went against Mei, it was just one-sided. I don't like putting people down but I just like to kind of say how it is."
Danielle Kelly added:
"For MMA, she's probably like, a top grappler, for sure. So that's a different ranking from like, jiu-jitsu. Maybe I'll give her a five or six [out of 10], I just think I have better jiu-jitsu when it comes to the grappling world."
The New Jersey native has been teasing a transition to mixed martial arts for quite some time now. She recently revealed that she's planning to make the move at some point in 2023.
Be sure to check back for an announcement regarding Danielle Kelly's next fight, as it will either be another must-watch submission grappling match or her highly anticipated MMA debut.
